After 11 years of producing thousands of SMA units, and its variations,
the time had come to improve upon the design which resulted in the introduction
of the SMB machine. A larger unit, the SMB-5 was added to the line providing a capacity
for operating large high pressure valves which is still unequaled in the
world today. Versions of this unit produce torque of 60,000 ft.lbs. and
handle stem thrusts of one-half million pounds. The SMB could easily be considered
Limitorque's most Successful product.
