CI-ACTUATION - Stem Nuts
Limitorque, EIM and Rotork
We supply current and obsolete stem nuts. Our service center can thread, bore & key, and spline
your actuator stem nuts. When ordering a stem nut it helps if you can supply as much stem information
as possible. Accurate stem measurements are critical when a field location needs a new stem nut,
a new actuator, or an exchange actuator. We have developed an easy to follow procedure and a printed
form to ensure accurate information. Click on link below for form.

Measurement Procedure
1. Measure the outside diameter of the Stem with calipers or micrometer. It is best to measure more than one place in case of stem wear.
2. If possible, measure the depth of the thread using, the end of calipers.
3. Use your thread gauge to determine threads per inch, or if you do not have a gauge, use scale and measure 2 inches of thread and note the number of threads per inch, (It is common to have a half thread such as 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 threads per inch).
4. Determine the number of starting threads by looking at the end of the stem. If you cannot see the end of stem, then use a scale or your finger an note the starting point, follow the stem for one revolution. If you end up on the next thread then there is one starting thread. If you end up two threads down then you have two starting threads etc...
* Please note if the stem has a down stop such as older M&J valves and WKM Safe-T-Seals, the stop height and diameter need to be considered to ensure proper sealing of your valve.
